Global Quick Search Update

Timeline
  • Discovery & Design: 4 months

  • Build: 6 months

  • Completed: Jan 2024

Our previous solution only displayed three results before you need to scroll, which limited users who typically found their data within the first ten results. Additionally, functionalities like inactive & active checkboxes, tabs, and search clarification options were underutilized due to unclear design.

To address this, we conducted extensive discovery, leading to necessary updates despite extending the timeline. We redesigned the search filters to take up less space, increasing the number of visible results, and improved the display of search criteria by placing the clarification dropdown directly below the search bar for better user understanding.

These changes resulted in a 99.98% adoption rate and only a 0.11% abandonment rate.

AI Tranlsations in Facility App

Timeline
  • Discovery & Design: 2 months

  • Project Hold: 6 months due to reprioritization

  • Refinement: 2 weeks

  • Completed: May 2024

Many work orders are created in English by residents or property staff, while many maintenance technicians speak Spanish as their first language, leading to frequent calls to supervisors for clarification.

To solve this, we integrated AI into the app for in-app translation, eliminating the need to switch apps or seek help. After testing three translation options internally and with end users, we found that a simple “View in Spanish” button was the most effective.

Clients are excited about this feature and have expressed interest in adding more translation capabilities to the app, which are now on the roadmap.

Re-forecasting for Budgeting

Timeline
  • Discovery & Design: 3 months

  • Build: 8 months

  • Completed: May 2024

We tackled a major issue in our budgeting process: re-forecasting. Previously, our system couldn’t handle this, leading to slow workarounds and multiple budgets that were hard to manage. Re-forecasting is crucial for aligning budgets with the latest data, improving decision-making, and supporting our clients’ needs.

As I was new to accounting, I conducted thorough research and collaborated with internal experts to create a visual flow of the budgeting process. During wire framing, we faced architectural limitations, but through several iterations, we developed an intuitive solution.

The new tool received positive client feedback, particularly praising the new forecasting option and sliding bar feature.
